Book Traveling Thursdays: Favorite Retelling (Blogmas Day 10)

The Book Traveling Thursdays meme is created by Danielle at Danielle’s Book Blog and Catia at TheGirlWhoReadTooMuch. Every week you choose a book for your blog post that fits the weekly theme (which you can find in the Goodreads group), you share why you chose that book and finally post picture of the original cover, the covers from your country, your favorite cover, and your least favorite cover.

This week’s topic "Because we're never too old to believe in Fairytales!" is all about our favorite retellings.

Well, I have read only four of these, so I don't have a lot of choices...I'm going to choose something a little bit different from a fairytale retelling. It's a book based on my favorite TV mini-series of all time.

"The 10th Kingdom" by Kathryn Wesley has everything in it. Prince Charming, Snow White, Rapunzel - you name it, the book has it. And it's a lot of fun. If you don't have a chance to read the book, watch the mini-series. It's awesome and it's only 10 episodes...although I wanted more and more.

Original/Favorite Cover:
Well, look at it! The color scheme, the font, the castle - everything is perfect!!!

Favorite Cover:
It's not so different from the original one. I love it!

Least Favorite Covers:
            1) Persian                                        2) German

What's with all that blue on the Persian cover??? If they've only made the buildings and mountain bigger it would have been one awesome cover.
On the right is the German cover...I think. It has nothing to do with the book. What were the publishers thinking...Were they thinking at all...

Have you read this book or watched the mini-series? What's your opinion about them? If you have a Book Traveling Thursdays blog post, share it in the comments. I would love to check it out :)

    1. If you can't find the book, give the mini-series a try. They are completely the same, since the book is based on the series, not the other way around ;)

  2. I've never heard of it, but the book (and mini series!) sounds so cool! The original reminds me of A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Grey. Like Giovanna and you, I like the original cover the best. Those German covers always fall short!

Here is my BTT! Great post Zhana!
