Top Ten Tuesday: New-Found Authors In 2015 (Blogmas Day 8)

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by the Broke and the Bookish.

This week's topic is all about the authors that we've read for the first time this year and I have plenty of those! Of course not all of them ended up in my favorites' list, but you know how it is. We can't like everything.

David Dalglish
"Shadowdance" became one of my favorite fantasy series of all time. This author may be old news for some of you, since "A Dance of Cloaks" came out in 2010. I'm looking forward to reading all of his works, because I predict that all of them will be amazing.

Laini Taylor
I really liked "Daughter of Smoke & Bone" trilogy. I've heard that we can expect something new by her next year and I'm really excited.

Peter Liney
"The Detainee" is one of the most unique dystopian books, that I've read. There are some really disturbing moments, so I can't guarantee that everybody will like it, but I loved it. I'm looking forward to reading more of his books.

John Wyndham
I loved "The Day of the Triffids", which is a really old science fiction novel. I don't usually like science fiction, but this one was really captivating. I would love to give a chance to other books by this author.

Carlos Ruiz Zafón
I was not blown away by his "Niebla" trilogy, but I've heard so amazing things about his adult books and I really like his writing style. I would love to read "The Cemetery of Forgotten Books". Hopefully they will live up to my expectations.

Alyson Richman
I love historical fiction and her books bring tears to my eyes, so I will definitely read some more of her works.

Brian Selznick
I was so surprised to find two of his books in the library and since I've heard only great things about them I just couldn't resist picking them up. They were amazing and now I want more.

Jenny Han
I don't think I need to explain why she is in this list...Do I?

Chris Mooney
I really hope that I'll have a chance to read more of his works, because "Remembering Sarah" was so well written and with such an unexpected ending, that it became one of my favorite mystery novels for this year.

Lisa Genova
If you want to cry your eyeballs out, "Still Alice" is definitely your book. I don't think I'll read any other works by this author, because I feel that I'll have too high expectations after this one.

Have you read any of these books/authors? Share your blog post about this topic or any other thoughts you have :)
