December Wrap Up

Happy New Year!!!

Where did 2015 go?! I can't believe that last year went by so fast...
And now it's time for my December Wrap Up. Do you remember my December TBR post?!
...
...
...
Yeah, I almost followed it this time!
I've read a total of eight books in December, which is not bad at all.

Reviewed Books:

"The Danger in Tempting an Earl" (At the Kingsborough Ball #3) by Sophie Barnes

Genre: Historical Romance
I enjoyed reading this book. It was a light, happy read. My full review can be found here.

"Hollow Blood" (Sleepy Hollow Horrors #1) by Austin Dragon

Genre: Mystery
This book has been advertized as horror novel and I needed something scary. Sadly, it was not a horror. But as a mystery it's pretty good. My full review can be found here.

"Lumière" (The Illumination Paradox #1) by Jacqueline Garlick

Genre: Steampunk
I don't tend to read Steampunk novels, but I really liked this one. For more detailed review, you can click here.

Genre: Memoir
One word - heartbreaking!!! More of my ranting about it can be found here.

"Blood Eagle" (Jan Fabel #1) by Craig Russell

Genre: Mystery
I absolutely love mystery novels and although this one was good, I was not smitten by it. For more detailed review, you can click here.

Non-Reviewed Books:

"Bundori" (Sano Ichiro #2) by Laura Joh Rowland

Genre: Mystery
This was an average mystery novel. I did enjoy it more than the first book in the series. The case was more interesting and I did not know who the killer was until the very end.
I will continue with this series, because the books are definitely getting better.

"Found" (The Missing #1) by Margaret Peterson Haddix

Genre: Science Fiction
I don't read Science Fiction. It's one of my least favorite genres. Nevertheless this book was really interesting. The story was easy to follow and most of the characters were really likeable. I will definitely continue reading this series.

"The Trouble With Being a Duke" (At the Kingsborough Ball #1) by  Sophie Barnes

Genre: Historical Romance
I enjoyed reading this book, but not as much as the third book in the series, which I read in the beginning of the month. The characters were not as well developed, as I would have liked. It was still an interesting read and I don't regret giving it a chance, but I would not recommend it.

Wow! I did not read so many series this month on purpose...Don't know how that happened.
Oh, well!
That were all of the books that I've read this month. Have you read any of them? Share your thoughts in the comments!

  1. I have to get a copy of Hollow Blood. I love stuff related to Sleepy Hollow and I am co-hosting a mystery challenge this year which it will be perfect for. I will have to work on my wrap up this week. I have a few other posts which need to go up first. 8 books is great! I have no idea how many I read in December but I don't think it's that high - although I did read a couple of graphic novels so that may have upped it a bit.

    1. Actually the Headless Horseman was only briefly mentioned in "Hollow Blood", so don't venture into the book for this reason, cause it will be a let down...as it have been for quite a lot of people, if I might add.
But if you are willing to give it a try, because it's a mystery, it's ok. It is definitely more of a mystery, than another take on the Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
